The human contribution is the essential ingredient. It is only in the giving of oneself to others that we truly live.

Cautious, careful people, always casting about to preserve their reputations... can never effect a reform.

Energy Prices

They can't say for sure, but it looks like we are in a recession. Inflation is causing the price of everything to go up. Fuel prices are going through the roof, causing the cost of food items to increase.

According to a recent report gas prices in Britain are rising faster than almost any other Western European destination, with officials stating that foreign suppliers are rationing our gas supplies and effectively driving price up. Both gas and electricity prices went up earlier this year by a significant amount, sending domestic household bills soaring in some cases. A recent report has also indicated that prices are set to soar once more in the autumn, with annual household gas bills likely to smash through the £1000 a year barrier. In the past year energy prices in the UK have gone up by around 13.6%. This had resulted in the average household bill rising by hundreds of pounds a year. However, in Germany energy prices have only gone up by 9.5% in the same period, in France by around 12%, and in the Netherlands by only 2.8%. It is thought that household energy bills in the UK could rise by around 25% when the price hikes come into effect in the autumn. Officials state that the reason behind this issue is that lack of gas from the North Sea has resulted in Britain becoming more reliant on imported gas during the winter months when a larger supply is needed. Cheap North Sea gas is being purchased from Britain by foreign companies in the summer, and is then being put into huge storage facilities on the continent. Lack of facilities means that Britain is not able to store gas in this way. Larger scale gas users, such as certain businesses, have warned industry officials that Britain is now at the mercy of foreign suppliers because its storage facilities only hold enough gas for thirteen days, whereas in France there are storage facilities that hold enough gas for 122 days and in Germany for 99 days.

The pain will come early this year for people on modest incomes reliant on oil for basic heating and cooking. They will have to shiver through it. Some will die. When domestic heating prices soar in the US, people demand intervention from the Government. In the UK, we appear to think the government cannot do anything any more, and we don't even ask. I wonder whether the Prime Minister should find that even more alarming than he did the petrol protests.

I suppose this winter we will have to wear our socks, mittens and scarves as well as a couple of cardigans as we will be surviving on a pension, even that might not be enough!

Who is your Angel

Angels

Blessed are the Angels who walk with us,
though we are unaware,
Those people who take time to listen
... to understand and care.
Blessed are those with unseen halos,
earned through deeds of love,
For they will always be for us Sweet Blessings From Above

Gabriel

Gabriel rules over the waters. The perils and benefits of the creature of the waters should be at focus on this day. Archangel Gabriel is the highest ranking Angel of the Christian, Hebrew and Moslem religions. Gabriel is the Angel of the Annunciation of the Madonna, Resurrection of Christ, Mercy, Vengeance, Death, and Revelation. This Chief of the Angelic Guards was placed as guardian of Paradise, and ruler of Monday, the day of the Moon. Gabriel is noted as the author of the Koran according to Mohammed, founder of the Moslem religion. Our intentions on Monday should involve Psychological Balance, Beauty, Psychic Abilities, Feminine Forces, Dreams, Astral Travel, Protection, and Intuition. In the Christian Church the chalice and fountain represent the tools of the Angel as used in Holy Communion and Baptism. White or Silver colors should be worn with pearls or white or silver jewelry. Over one-half of the U.S. population dies on Monday. Great protection against tempests of weather and travel are summoned through Gabriel.

By its very nature, Monday and its hours are the best times to allow our bad habits, fallen graces, or lost loves to pass, while opening all doors in our midst to new beginnings that were previously closed to us, but are now foretold to us this day by Gabriel, the Angel of the Moon.

PC Problems/Reformatting

I think that maybe all the problems I'm having all of a sudden could be caused by the Norton Internet Suite I purchased this year. My computer is running slowly, programs are constantly "not responding," I'm getting error reports about programs that I didn't even know were running, let alone that they existed, and to make it worse,

I unfortunately use Norton 360 and it is a continual battle for PC speed. The worst part is when the LUcallback.exe (aka the Live Update call back process), and all its associated files, starts, it won't stop and can't be stopped via task manager even if you have the Live Update feature disabled. When live update runs it brings a computer to a halt. Never again will I buy Norton !!! Installing it is a problem as well because it leaves behind lots of files etc .

I went to a help site and they instructed me to do various things which only made matters worse so that in the end i had to reformat.

I wonder how everyone else manages when their computer has problems?

I now have the free AVG antivirus installed as well as windows defender and firewall. I am going to set a system restore point and hope for the best.

Geert Wilders’ film about the Quran

Fitna is a film by Dutch politician Geert Wilders, leader of the Party for Freedom (PVV) in the Dutch parliament. The movie offers his views on Islam and the Qur'an. The film's title comes from the Arabic word fitna which is used to describe "disagreement and division among people", or a "test of faith in times of trial". The movie was released to the Internet on 27 March 2008

Fitna is an Arabic Word that means Igniting hate and creating Chaos. That is Exactly what Geert Wilders is doing.
Fact: In the past twenty five years Geert Wilders has visited Israel about forty times,
Wilders of taking guidance from the Israeli Embassy in the Netherlands (which is only a few meters away from the Dutch Parliament) in order to question Dutch ministers.

Furthermore, Wilders has made some proposals in the Dutch Parliament inspired by Israel. For example, in 2005 Wilders proposed implementing Israel's administrative detention in the Netherlands, a practice heavily criticized by human rights group Amnesty International. Also, at the time Wilders was member of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy, he had an employee who directly came from the Israeli Embassy.

The versus in Quran only applies to the time that there were war and not apply to the present time. Islam means peace but I agree some extremist took advantage of a small part of a small Sura that was writing for that specific time period. Remember there was war at that time. There are more than 1.2 billion musim people and most of them are peace loving people.

I am against extremism in any version. Be it Israel who ignite all of these or the few muslims who promote violence.

We can not judge the entire 1.2 billion people based on a film that its main intention is creating more hate. Instead of seeking the differences we have to seek our solidarity in good things.

In the same Quran there are many part of like this: Do not kill even one person because killing of one person is like killing of the world. the other part that says Only god gives lives and only he is allowed to take. When Prophet Mohammad took over the city of Mecca he instructed his followers do not kill or even enter the house of the enemy. The opposition was living with peace and had their welath and evertything and later they took over the Islamic empire.

So Religion is not bad by itself. Its a private thing betwwen you and your god to seek peace. what is wrong is mixing religion with politics and some groups like some Isrealis who want to ingnite hate and provoke the enitre world public opinion against Muslims.

What is a human soul

The soul, according to many religious and philosophical traditions, is the ethereal substance or the spirit particular to a unique living being. Such traditions often consider the soul both immortal and innately aware of its immortal nature, as well as the true basis for sentience in each living being.

The concept of the soul has strong links with notions of an afterlife, but opinions may vary wildly, even within a given religion, as to what happens to the soul after death. Many within these religions and philosophies see the soul as immaterial, while others consider it possibly material.

The term soul is used in two senses: it indicates the ego and the spirit-body. In ancient writings man is described as a triune being: body, soul and spirit. According to this the soul is just as much an envelope, animated by the spirit, as the physical body is an envelope for the soul. At death the soul withdraws and continues to function in the spiritual world. Astral body and soul are almost equivalent terms. Occult teachings, however, speak of five bodies of differing degrees of refinement which will be cast away in time just as the physical body is left behind.

Soul is derived from the Greek word "psuche" -- breath. This word has a variety of meanings, including: the seat of personality, the individual or person themselves, the immaterial component of a human, etc. Among Christians, dichotomists believe that a person is composed of a body and soul; trichotomists believe that a person consists of a body, soul, and spirit. Both argue their cases from biblical passages.

* Your soul is a valuable commodity and can easily reach upwards of $1000 in today's market.

Is there life after death?

Clinical death is one of the biggest mysteries that modern science still cannot solve. Some people say they remember their previous lives and can describe what they saw and did when they were having other bodies hundreds or thousands of years ago.

Vladimir Zatovka, head of the reanimation department in the Kaliningrad regional hospital revealed many astonishing facts about life and death when journalists interviewed him several years ago. The experienced doctor believes that clinical death is one of the biggest mysteries that modern science still cannot solve. Indeed, patients who revive after clinical death say they get some mysterious information and learn new things. Journalists were slightly shocked to hear the doctor saying the soul actually exists and lives its individual life.

One of the doctor's patients, Irina Lakoba was in coma for about a month after she seriously suffered in a traffic accident. She recovered from coma and turned out to be quite a different person. Before the accident, the woman worked as an engineer at a large fish company for twenty years. But when she regained consciousness after the coma, the woman said she saw herself being a little girl standing on the bank of some south river and even began speaking some strange language. Experts from the philology department of the Kaliningrad University stated that was one of Swahili dialects. Later, the woman began composing verses in this dialect and even translated them into Russian, English and French, the languages that she had never learnt before the accident.

Shortly before Irina recovered from coma, the doctor talked to her husband. They met in a room two floors above the ward where the patient stayed. But when the woman recovered, she told precisely what both men were talking about during that meeting. What is more, she described things which she could not see and hear when she was in coma. She said she had seen and heard everything because she could walk about the hospital. At that, she said she was watching her body staying in bed and was shocked to see it was old and ugly. She said she was a little healthy girl while walking about the hospital.

This is real reincarnation, the doctor says. Followers of esoteric doctrines, Hinduists and Buddhists never hesitate that there is no death at all; they believe the soul reincarnates endlessly. But people brought up according to the Orthodox traditions and scientific atheism can hardly believe it is so. It was a couple of decades ago that reincarnation was considered a myth, but now it is forming a scientific conception that is winning an increasing number of supporters.

It took American reanimatologist Raymond Moody thirty years within which he wrote several books about the after-life phenomenon before he managed to convince majority of his readers that cardiac arrest and cessation of brain activity do not mean the end. Those patients who revived from the dead told the doctor similar stories about the light they saw at the end of a long tunnel, about dead relatives who came to tell about new life coming and about a better world. Moody and his followers collected thousands of evidence of this sort; all stories told by patients coincide in every particular detail, which means these stories cannot be a forgery.

There are many people who remember their previous lives. Muscovite Olga Kuleshova, 37, knows perfectly well that before her birth 37 years ago she was a violinist living in England (she has partially retained the skills although she never learnt to play the violin). Before that, she served in the house of a rich magnate in India. Olga says that 200 years ago she was a concubine of a Turkish sultan and also that in Medieval Italy Michelangelo was her tutor in painting. Indeed, Olga can draw resembling the Michelangelo style and speaks the old Italian language (she says she never learnt the language). May this be true? There is no opportunity  to verify this.

Academician with the Russian Academy of Sciences Vlail Kaznacheyev says the reincarnation phenomenon is undoubted, as it has been given much confirmation. However, none of the hypotheses currently existing as concerning the issue can actually explain the phenomenon. Unfortunately, there is no scientific theory of reincarnation.

But is not it better to be unaware of what is going to happen after we die? Nothing, immortality or endless reincarnation? Each of us hopes there is no end to life, but we never think that this eternity may be even worse than death

Istanbul Trip!

My holiday in Turkey was ok but I had a fall in Istanbul and fractured my shoulder.

We were in Taxim on May 1st to visit Dormabace Palace and I tripped over a step and put my full weight on my shoulder as I fell, hoping to avoid damage to my wrists.  It was a crazy situation and we did not know that Taxim was a no go area. I suppose , fortunately we arrived before the the worst of the action.

I managed to get a couple of pictures before I was stopped for my own safety, so they said. You cant really tell from my pictures how bad it was.

I thought that perhaps I had a bad sprain so I waited a couple of day for when I would return to Alanya. My shoulder did not improve at all so I went to Baskant University hospital where the did an MRI and X-rays which cost £493. They said I had suffered trauma and rupturing of the shoulder and I would need Pysio in a couple of weeks time.

I should know better that to trust the Turkish medical profession as I have suffered before at their hands and have not fully recovered from it. Back in the UK the hospital did their own tests and the results show the fracture.

I always seem to get into bothers when i go away i am beginning to feel like i should stop my adventures and stay at home!!

I have enclosed a few more pics here but i will upload more tomorrow in my albums.

Fatalisim ,Free will and Positive thinking

This post is in response to Heave Chevy (asking my opinion on fate and of thought creating reality etc

I believe in all the above! ! It would take me forever to explain myself and even if i was able to do that properly i might well right a book.

I have taken parts from various thoughts that reflect my own beliefs.

 Fatalisim,free will and positive thinking

Suppose while traveling on a road you arrive at a point where the road divides into two and you must decide which road you will take. Once you make your decision, you have set a direction that can be almost totally predicted. In this way your fate is decided; but remember, it was your free decision that cast it in the first place. Now suppose that you could fly up in the air and get a bird's eye view of the road you selected to travel. From this vantage point you would see your future. The catch is that you couldn't be absolutely sure you'd stay on this road once you started. You might decide to go back to the beginning and take the other road, or you might choose to take a side road off of this road. You might even decide to sit down for a long time in one place along the road. In this way, your fate is before you, but you still have the free will to change your direction. It may take you some time before you can make a significant change, and perhaps it will require some considerable effort. For example, let's suppose you did decide to travel a different road. Where you are on the present road will in some way determine what options are available to you. There may be only one side-road within miles. You might be close enough to the beginning of the road to turn around, or too far down the road for that, in which case you'd have to push on until you could choose another route. Many of the decisions in our lives are like this. They are affected by our original choices, which may be long forgotten by now. The present road we're taking also affects our options. Nevertheless, no matter where we are in our lives, no matter what circumstances in which we find ourselves, once we finally wake up and take notice of what we're doing, our free will is at our disposal to effect the necessary changes. The only limitations are how long it will take us to get to the place where we can make a significant new choice

I believe that certain things are mapped out for us at our birth. The constraints over which we have very little or no choice and within which we must live. E.g when we are born, what country we are born in, who we love, when we die, how we die!! No amount of positive thinking or free will, can change these things. You might say we do have a choice on who we love but think carefully about that one  In some instances our thoughts can create reality but then again no matter how hard you try you cant conjure up a roast dinner, dream lover or a million £’s can you.

Journeys

I was inspired by visiting Sylvies blog with her wonderfull verse. I decided to post one of my own which actually represents me and my lifestyle. It was written a few years back .

Journey

I see the sea, I see the land
I journey through many countries

To count them I’d need an extra hand

I have witnessed much
I have done so much

I wonder if the time has come

Time to return home,
Though still I don’t know

where my home is

I have travelled far and I travel still
For my life seems to be a journey
Yet still I look, and still I search
For I have not found what I seek

I tell myself

You just don’t  know what will be found
you don’t even know what you want
Perhaps it’s been there all the time
Perhaps you just can't see it

Some say

You don't have to be blind to lose the way

For me

It is my heart that leads me astray
